I never thought that colonial mentality has subtle forms and could also be unusually enjoyed or embraced by people. I've heard from a radio station that observing Halloween with its Trick or Treat is a form of colonial mentality. Good point.
I know someone who doesn't like following trends and mainstream stuff. I find her as someone who is unaffected by things that are not within the context of her beliefs. Impressive woman.
